Have you suffered a nonlife-threatening illness or injury? Don’t head to an expensive emergency room and instead visit the board-certified doctors at Ahava Medical. Our walk-in urgent care center can treat your illness and injuries at a fraction of the cost compared to an emergency room without sacrificing top-notch medical care. With hours late into the evening on weekdays and Sunday availability, we are a great choice when you need immediate attention.
How do I choose an urgent care?
One of the first things you should check is if an urgent care center accepts your insurance. Go to our insurance page to see a list of carriers we currently take. If you are uninsured, call our office and ask about our self-pay rates. Another significant factor in selecting an urgent care center is its availability. We are open until 11 pm Monday through Thursday, making us very convenient for many of our neighbors.
How long does it take to be seen at urgent care?
On average, most patients spend about an hour at our urgent care center when they need immediate care. It is impossible, however, to predict patient volume and acuity. These factors may lengthen your overall visit to our urgent care center.
How much does it cost to go to urgent care?
Depending on your insurance, there is usually a fee to visit a doctor at an urgent care center. This fee is determined by your insurance carrier and varies by policy. Most fees are around $100, but these visits are usually much cheaper than visiting an emergency room.
How do I know if I should go to urgent care?
When you have recently become ill or injured and need prompt medical attention, you should visit our urgent care center. These ailments are usually severe enough that you can’t wait for an appointment at a primary care physician, but not so severe that it is threatening your life. Our facility can take x-rays, provide IV fluids, treat broken bones, and process any needed lab tests.
Is Urgent Care same as ER?
In many ways, an Urgent Care Center is like an ER. We can treat about 75% of the reasons why most people would visit an emergency room. We cannot treat injuries or illnesses that are life-threatening or perform complex procedures like surgeries. We can, however, treat you for acute illnesses and injuries that need medical intervention.
Is a walk in clinic considered urgent care?
A walk-in clinic is almost the same as an urgent care center. In many areas of the country, the term is often interchangeable. You do not need an appointment at an urgent care center or a walk-in clinic.
What can they do at urgent care?
Some of the most common things we treat include:
- Cold and flu symptoms
- Sore throat
- Bad Cough
- Urinary tract infection
- Moderate injury or accident
